Battery Management System

Monitors each cell, balances and ensures long-term reliability.

The REAP battery management system (BMS) is the part that keeps the battery running safely and efficiently. It watches every cell, keeps the cells balanced, and manages charging and discharging to help the battery last longer.

The BMS works at several levels. At the cell level, it measures voltage, current and temperature. At the rack level, it balances the cells so they all stay at a similar charge. At the system level, it estimates how full the battery is — its State-of-Charge (SoC), or remaining charge — and its State-of-Health (SoH), or overall condition. Protection and balancing work together to keep the battery within safe limits at all times.

The BMS connects over CAN, RS485 and TCP/IP, so it can link to wider monitoring and control systems and give operators a clear view of every battery in the field.
